16th IEEE/ACM DS-RT 2012

Special Session on Modelling and Simulation on MultiCore Systems (WSM2 2012)

Information

This Special Session on Modelling and Simulation on MultiCore Systems is jointly organized by the European Industry University Research Association (EIURA), the Cloud Computing Research Centre (CloudCORE), the World-Wide-Mind Research Group (w2m) and the Centre for Scientific Computing & Complex Systems Modelling (SCI-SYM).

Session Chair

Ray Walshe
Dublin City University

Goals of the Session

The goal of this special session is to solicit multi-core (CPU and GPU) research papers in the following fields: (i) Scientific Computing, (ii) Social Network Analysis and (iii) Enterprise Computing. Thematically these fields are linked in that they apply massive Parallel Computing methods and frameworks to problem domains to obtain significant speedup. The session will bring together researchers and practitioners applying many-core techniques to achieve terascale and petascale computing in their disciplines. Multicore CPU and GPU experiments are becoming pervasive in science, engineering, health and business and it is the intention of this workshop to explore such advances.
